1st Course:
Her: Winter Squash Soup with Herb Bread Crumbs, Mustard Cream and Braised House Made Bacon.
Me: Foie Gras Terrine with Cranberry Squash Chutney, Cranberry Fruit Leather, Vin Santo Gelee and Toasted Brioche.
2nd Course:
Her: Seared Sea Scallops with Brown Butter Vinaigrette, Lardo and Glazed Turnips
Me: Roasted Sweetbreads with Scotch Compressed Pumpkin, Braised Turnips, Three Grain Porridge and Sorghum
3rd Course:
Her: Slow Cooked Egg with Wild Mushroom Mousseline, Crispy Pork Belly and Celery Root Sauerkraut
Me: Mixed Greens with Peanut Nougatine, House Made Ricotta, Surryano Ham and Apple
4th Course:
Her: Seared Rockfish with Ham Braised Cabbage, Crispy Shallots and Pickled Mustard Seeds
Me: Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Turnips, Mustard Green Pesto and Brown Butter
5th Course:
Her: Roasted Dry Aged Ribeye with Crushed Potatoes, Oyster Mushrooms and Braised Acorn Squash
Me: Confit Lamb Shoulder with Caramalized Cauliflower, Smoked Leeks and Cashew Granola
6th Course:
Her: Sticky Toffee Pudding with Pecan Ice Cream, Candied Pecans and Medjool Dates (with added chocolate birthday wish for the occasion)
Me: Dark Chocolate Tart with Salted Caramel, Roasted Peanuts, Homemade Pretzels and Dulce De Leche Ice Cream
Some courses were better than others (I didn’t really care for the gnocchi; too dry), but overall, hot damn.
